Torso - Sculpture Enlargement

New York, USA

The purpose of this work for artist William Tucker was to devise a
strategy to effectively enlarge a 6 inch tall clay sculpture to a form 8 feet tall to later be used as a mold for casting bronze. We used a 3D
scanner to capture a mesh of the original and CNC milled a sort of low resolution topo of the form out of foam, which is being refined by hand. Later it will be reverse molded in rubber then used for the final bronze cast.
